Historian William Venedict said that people always relate to slavery to black American and among the White. "People still can't get enough with what happened between Black and White American" he added.
However the non-profitable organization "Walk Free" redefines what is Modern Slavery is all about, which is beyond the involvement of races and moralities. "This time, slavery is no longer about the color of the skin, nor the status the status of the society", but rather it's all about "slaving even the educated professionals to work with unjust compensation", Walk Free spokesperson said.
The organization released their latest data about the growing number of modern slavery across the globe that reaches to 21 million now. According to them that these people are hidden in different working place such as factory, farms, riches country, the poorest one and even in homes. "Slavery is everywhere today, they are not congested in one area only", they added.
One of the unforgettable incident the group documented was when a girl is trapped and forced to work inside the home without a pay, "that incident is a heart breaking one, as the girl looks terribly unhealthy because she do not eat her regular meal", Walk for Free spokesperson says.
In addition, the group revealed that modern slavery do not discriminate age, as anyone can become a victim. The youngest documented was aged five, where the said kid was offered for a job away from home that ends to a tragic slavery. "The kid is now undergoing a psychological therapy and debriefing for emotional and mental healing", Walk for Free added.
And what is alarming to this so called "modern slavery is that", it earns profit for up to $32 billion every year, which usually happens in country such as Nicaragua, Rwanda and Mongolia.
