Halle Berry and partner Oliver Martinez welcomed a baby boy into the world on Saturday. This is the second child for Oscar-winning actress, who married French actor Martinez last July. The baby is the first for the pair.
Berry's and Martinez's baby boy was born in Los Angeles' Cedar Sinai Medical Center. The baby has an older sister named Nahla Ariela Aubry, who is Berry's daughter with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Audry. Berry settled a custody battle for Nahla in 2012.
Prior to marrying the French actor last July, Berry has been married two times before. Her first marriage was to baseball player, David Justice. Berry's second marriage was to R and B musician Eric Benet.
A source has been quoted as saying that Martinez has not left Berry's side since the birth of their son. The baby's big sister, Nahla, also paid a visit to the hospital earlier, most likely to check on her mom and to meet her new baby brother.
Berry surprised the public and her fans when she announced that she was pregnant last year, and at 46 years of age. In an interview last April about her pregnancy, and her baby's impending arrival, the actress couldn't help but express her own surprise at what happened to her. The actress was quoted as saying that the pregnancy was actually something that she considered as the biggest surprise of her entire life.
She followed it up to say, "I thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it's been a big surprise and the most wonderful." Prior to the interview, the actress kept her pregnancy under wraps for the first few months.
So far there has been no announcement yet regarding the baby boy's name.
