Miley Cyrus sure is feeling on top of the world as her latest record, 'Bangerz,' makes a splash at the top spot in the Billboard 200's.
The ex-Disney star-turned rebel has got a strong comeback to show her critics: Bangerz debuting at no.1 in the high profile albums chart. The album's release earlier this month has proven to be quite controversial, following the singer's explosive performance at this year's Video Music Awards.
Despite endless slams from critics about her risqué image and antics, Miley Cyrus says she has got everything in control, with herself being her own "boss." In an interview, Cyrus revealed that she "doesn't take advice" from "70-year-old Jewish executives."
"It can't be like this 70-year-old Jewish man that doesn't leave his desk all day, telling me what the clubs want to hear. I've got to be the one doing it because they're just not in on what 20-year-olds are doing," says Cyrus in an interview with Hunger TV as reported by NY Daily News.
Miley's single, "Wrecking Ball," is also sitting pretty at the top spot in the singles charts, all thanks to its much talked-about music video. The video shows a naked Miley on top of a metal ball swinging back and forth as debris shatter. Daring photographer, Terry Richardson, directed the video, and is responsible for the recent set of ultra-racy photos of Cyrus.
Bangerz is the singer's fifth no.1 album from Cyrus, with two Hannah Montana soundtracks (2006, 2009). Miley's "Hannah Montana 2/ Meet Miley Cyrus" in 2007 also debuted in no.1, as well as her "Breakout" album released in 2008. "Can't Be Tamed," Miley's last studio album, also landed at the top spot, and there's just no stopping the "Wrecking Ball" singer from rising to maximum fame.
