Golden Joystick: Grand Theft Auto V Wins 'Game of The Year' [LIST OF WINNERS]

In line with the game's highly-celebrated release over a month ago, Grand Theft Auto V won as the game of year at this year's Golden Joystick awards.
Beating the likes of "The Last of Us," the highly-popular GTA V bagged in millions of votes from its hardcore fans. Green Man Gaming presented the awards, which also gave out prestigious awards to other worthy games.
Zombie-stricken game, The Last Of Us, might not have won the coveted game of the year acclaim, but it did nab the "Best Storytelling" and "Best Newcomer" awards. A hall of fame trophy was awarded to Call of Duty for selling over 160 million copies for its installment and series. Unlike the other awards whose results were driven by fan votes, the hall of fame awardee was handpicked by the Golden Joystick board.
The lifetime achievement award was handed to Ken Levine, creator of BioShock, and co-founder of Irrational Games. Levine is the first individual recipient of the lifetime achievement award.
"In most fields, people begin their careers being inspired by others. In turn, they hopefully end up inspiring others. The great thing about the still-maturing nature of video games is you get to be inspired by the work of novices and veterans alike. We're all figuring out day by day exactly what the medium is capable of," said Levine in his acceptance speech, as reported by Telegraph.
