HTC One Max Vs. Nokia Lumia 1520: Battle of the Monster Phones Specs, Features, & More!
By Jobs & Hire Staff Reporter | Nov 16, 2013 05:44 PM EST
With the interesting addition of Nokia to its flagship devices, we can't help but get oh so excited in comparing it to the HTC One Max. For one thing, both the One Max and the Nokia Lumia 1520 sport close to being similar sized screens: One Max has 5.9" while the other has 6 inches. Aside from these is of course the distinct array of highly advanced features, specifications, and other things that go well with their monster-sized appearances. Without further ado, let us take a look at the four-one-one of each smartphone and compare them head-to-head against each other.
HTC One Max over Nokia Lumia 1520
Looking at both phones one may not see right away the difference on their screens since both actually come with 1080p display. And although we really admire Nokia Lumia 1520's ClearBlack IPS display with Gorilla Glass 2 with 367 ppi, specs-wise we are giving this one to the HTC One Max because it comes in an LCD3 capacitive touchscreen which has higher pixel density at 373 ppi. Moreover, colors appear more vibrant in the One Max in all angles.
Considering the relatively smaller app store of Windows compared to that of the Android playstore, it's safe to say that we're also giving this round to the HTC One Max. The Lumia 1520 comes in Windows 8 mobile. As for the HTC One Max, not only does it come with Android OS v4.3 Jelly Bean, it also has this Sense UI 5.5, which gives it a distinct android feel on its own.
The seemingly trendy front-mounted stereo speakers with BoomSound tech in all of HTC's latest smartphone devices is definitely one thing that is hard to beat. It gives the monster phone better sound quality compared with that of the Nokia Lumia 1520. What's really good about technology is the fact that it gives users that cinematic sound system when viewing all sorts of video and audio files.
And of course, with the launching of Apple's iPhone 5S, we are most certain that fingerprint scanning technology is the big buzz among enthusiasts and the eye candy of regular consumers. The HTC One Max is the second smartphone to have this advanced technology. Thus, we are giving the security round for the One Max.
Nokia Lumia 1520 over HTC One Max
The first thing that gives the Lumia 1520 the edge over the One Max has to be its camera. One thing that Nokia is taking advantage right now is its PureView technology, so it is not surprising that its latest flagship comes with very powerful shooters. For the Nokia Lumia 1520 it's a 20 MP, Carl Zeiss optics with LED flash and optical image stabilization. On the other hand, although HTC has been defending its decision to stick to a 4 MP autofocus camera, which it now claims to have this "UltaPixel" technology, it is nowhere near the performance and the quality of images the 1520 has to offer.
Nokia is also more than ready to step up its game that's why the chipset it packed in this smartphone is a good competition to the most powerful Android devices out there rightow including the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. This 6-incher flaunts Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, quad-core Krait 400 at 2.2GHz with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Meanwhile, though the HTC One Max also has a powerful chipset, it still not as powerful with only a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 3000 CPU, Adreno 320 GPU, and 2GB of RAM.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 comes with a standard 32 GB internal, an expandable microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB, with an additional 7GB SkyDrive cloud storage, out of the box. Contrariwise, the HTC One Max comes with an expansion slot alongside its 16GB/32GB built-in storage.
In terms of battery, the Nokia Lumia 1520 also takes the lead with its 3,400mAh battery with built-in wireless charging. The HTC One Max although it comes with a 3,300mAh battery which obviously close to that of the 1520, the built-in wireless charging technology that comes with it simply speaks volumes.
