Meat Recall Expands From Colorado to Four Other States After USDA Proves Unsanitary Packaging [VIDEO + REPORT]

A meat recall expanded from Colorado to four other states and identified other meat and poultry products after the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service found out that the packaging of the recalled products was reportedly carried out in unsanitary conditions, Associated Press reported Tuesday.
A Windsor meat company was forced to shut down following USDA's inspection. According to multiple reports, the inspection team from the USDA discovered that the meat and poultry they were producing were made in unsanitary conditions
Although no reports or claims of illness from the recalled meat and poultry, the US Agriculture Department has ordered an expansion Monday.
The products were reportedly made available in Colorado and in other four states namely: Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah , and Wyoming. The expanded recall now covers products identified by establishment number "Est 20309" inside the USDA Mark of Inspection.
The Associated Press reported that the additionally recalled meat and poultry include: "Corner Post meats" brand hams and bacon, "Old Style Sausage" brand smoked Andouille sausage, and "Old Style Sausage" brand smoked Kielbasa sausage.
The recalled products were produced between April 1, 2013 and Dec. 5, 2013, and they all have four-digit Julian dates from 3091 to 3339.
The statement issued by the USDA says that the meat and poultry produced in the said factory were packaged in very unsanitary conditions which included overt rodent activity.
