Kristin Cavallari recently proved that reality TV isn't as real as producers claim it to be.
The 26-year-old reality star recently confessed in a Bethenny Frankel interview just how fake and pretentious her life had been in Laguna Beach and The Hills.
"I faked relationships, faked fights," Kristin Cavallari confessed on the show. "I don't care anymore. I can tell you. At this point, it's been so many years."
Cavallari first started out as a reality television star as a mainstay in Laguna Beach in 2009. She later on took Lauren Conrad's place as the main character on "The Hills" after leaving Laguna Beach later that year.
According to the fashionista, the two shows she'd been in felt more like "soap operas" than reality television.
She dished that on Laguna Beach, the creators often manipulated certain situations and placed the characters in situations they wouldn't normally have been in. Cavallari further confessed that they would sometimes film scenes that happened weeks or months ago or hasn't even occurred yet.
Kristin Cavallari said that she knew exactly what she was getting when she'd signed the contract for "The Hills." The producers had a character they had in mind and Cavallari took on the role and played it to perfection.
Her relationship with fellow reality TV star Brody Jenner had, in fact, been one of the things she was asked to fake during the show, added Cavallari.
Brody Jenner had been dating Jayde Nicole at that time. Kristin Cavallari had dated Jenner when she was 18, following Laguna Beach, however they broke up before she joined "The Hills."
In one of the episodes of the The Hills, they had to fake a situation wherein Jayde Nicole and Brody Jenner would break up after getting into an argument after Nicole catces Jenner in a club with her. Kristin Cavallari confessed that it was all pretend and Nicole and Jenner were together the entire time.
The only real relationship she's made during the show it seemed was the friendship with Heidi Montag whom she claims to still communicate with "all the time."
