Vin Diesel, lead star of the 'Fast & Furious' franchise said that 'Fast and Furious 7' will be released in April 2015 after its production was suspended when Paul Walker, one of the major stars of the film died in a car crash, according to MSN News.
Fast & Furious 7 was originally schedule for release next year, July 11, but the action film's production was shut down when actor Paul Walker's car crashed last month.
On his Facebook page, Diesel said, "Fast and Furious 7 will be released... April 10th 2015!" He added, "P.s. He'd want you to know first..." Diesel was apparently making reference to Walker who died last November 30 in Santa Clarita, Southern California, while riding in a sports car driven by Walker's friend.
According to Universal Pictures, the film is the seventh in a series of car racing films that was supposed to be shown worldwide on July 11, 2014. When the accident occurred and with Walker dead, Universal Pictures opted to suspend the production of 'Fast and Furious 7.'
Diesel's announcement puts to rest that filmmakers will reboot the movie production with Walker's scenes removed. However, recent statements have shown that Wlaker will show prominently in the seventh installment of the movie, according to the Los Angeles TImes.
Industry experts also believed that the makers of the movie wanted Walker in the new film and that they would find a way to make it possible.
Paul Walker became an icon of street car racing and car culture worldwide with his rol as Brian O'Conner in the 'Fast & Furious' series.
'Fast & Furious' movies have grossed more than $2 billion globally. It's one of the movie franchises that help Universal Pictures get back to its feet.
