Selena Gomez may have more in her plate now than heartbreak and exhaustion.
It seems that the former Disney star may be suffering from an autoimmune disorder called Lupus and this could be part of the reason why Selena Gomez recently announced the cancellation of her Australian tour.
The 21-year-old singer-actress announced recently that she would be cancelling her Australian tour because Gomez needed to "spend time on herself."
When former Disney star Selena Gomez decided to cancel tour, she said "My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them. But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."
Reports from Popdust and HollywoodLife however, claim that Selena Gomez has recently suffered from the symptoms of Lupus, including extreme fatigue, facial swelling and many more. The multiple "flares" caused by the disease had forced the Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend to take a break from performing and get herself proper treatment.
A representative from Selena Gomez's company chose not to comment when asked about the shocking rumors, according to HollywoodLife.
"Selena has been going full throttle the past few years and her Lupus is really catching up with her right now," a source close to the star told Popdust. "She knows that she needs to take some time to address the disease and look after herself better if she wants to live a full and healthy life."
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that has several symptoms including headache, fever, memory loss, stiffness and extreme joint pain. This disease is also known to be more prevalent in women aged between 15 to 35. Lupus currently doesn't have a permanent cure but can be controlled and managed with proper treatment.
Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey's husband, is another star besides Selena Gomez who is currently battling against the autoimmune disease.
The claim remains unconfired by Selena Gomez and her company.
