Honey Boo Boo, born Alan Thompson, and her family got into a car crash with another vehicle that left several of them bruised and battered on Monday night.

The stars of hit reality television show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" reportedly suffered minor injuries following a car accident on Jan. 6.
Honey Boo Boo's mother, Mama June, retold the details of the accident in an official statement through the reality TV series' publicist.

"We were in a car accident last night. It was really scary for us, since it was the first time any of us had ever been in a wreck," the reality TV star shared to ABC News. "As always we want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes."

The family's reality show stars eight-year-old Alana Thompson who was a former beauty pageant contest now known internationally as Honey Boo Boo.

The eight-year-old star's claim to fame was "Toddles & Tiaras," a reality TV programme that focused on American child pageants before she was given her own show which also featured the rest of her large family.

Major celebrity news site TMZ earlier shared details of the crash, claiming that it had occured when another car, without lights on, crashed into the family's vehicle.

Alana's father Mike Thompson, now called "Sugar Bear," has bruises on his back, Honey Boo Boo bruised her head after it hit the window and Mama June, born June Shannon, currently suffers from a sprained back and neck.

One of the "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" spokespersons also reported that Pumpkin, Alana's sister, currently suffers from bruises on her chest and has been experiencing panic attacks following the night of the incident.

Another one of Honey Boo Boo's sisters, Jessica "Chubs" Shannon, remained unhurt in the incident. Alana's other sister, Anna "Chickadee" Shannon along with Kaitlyn, her daughter, were not in the car during the time of incident.

"We are definitely really sore today, but our top priority is to celebrate Pumpkin's birthday," Mama June said. "She turned 14 today and no matter how sore we feel, we are going to go out and celebrate."
