Woody Allen's would-be son Ronan Farrow showed barely restrained contempt towards the man he grew up calling "dad," bashing the Blue Jasmine director as he was honored with a Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night.

Ronan Farrow started a messy smear campaign against his own father as Allen's long and distinguised film career was recognized in front of the entire nation during the live televised show.

Farrrow is the director's would-be son because his mother Mia Farrow confessed in an interview with Vanity Fair in 2013 that Ronan is "possibly" Frank Sinatra's son, not Allen's.

The 26-year-old TV host's tweet, which says "Missed the Woody Allen tribute - did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after Annie Hall?" went viral and has received over 9,000 retweets and more than 6,000 favorites so far.

Ronan Farrow also shared a link to the article in Vanity Fair in which his sister Dylan spoke about allegedly being molested by Woody Allen in the attic of their country home when she was 7 years old for the first time. Allen has always denied the accusation and did so once again through his lawyer in the article.

Ronan Farrow also retweeted two posts from two Twitter users praising him for showing support for sexual abuse survivors.

Woody Allen was absent for the Golden Globes this year, with Diane Keaton accepting the Cecile B. DeMille Award on his behalf. The director has a well-established track record of not showing up for awards shows, whether he is nominated or not.

Allen was reportedly spotted at the Broadway performance of "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" on Sunday night, according to Katie Couric, who was also at the theater that time.

Allen's longtime former partner, Mia Farrow, who has become his longtime detractor after the director broke up with her to marry their adopted daughter Soon Yi in 1997, joined her son in the smear campaign.

Mia Farrow tweeted when the tribute to her former partner began, "Time to grab some icecream & switch over to #GIRLS."

Monday morning following the awards night, she posted another tweet as follow-up, saying, "A woman has publicly detailed Woody Allen's molestation of her at age 7. GoldenGlobe tribute showed contempt for her & all abuse survivors."

26-year-old Ronan Farrow is a host on MSNBC and also a lawyer who was a former U.S. Global Youth Issues envoy.
