Nike is expected to make big waves this brand New Year with the release of several highly-anticipated shoes in the next few weeks, including the newest versions of the signature shoes of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
Coming out this Saturday, December 18th, is the Nike Zoom Kobe Prelude VII System, which is the first "retro" release of the shoe. According to solecollector, this impressive-looking sneaker will retail at $200 per pair.
This edition, which is officially listed as the cool grey/metallic gold-black colorway of the shoe, sports a pop art-inspired design, which was made to pay tribute to Bryant's gold medal triumph during the 2012 London Summer Olympics as shown by the gold hints throughout the shoe.
Aside from the upcoming colorway of the seventh Nike signature shoe of Bryant, the release date of the Kobe Prelude VIII was also announced.
The multi-color/volt-chrome colorway will hit the market on January 25th and will retail at $200 per pair as well.
This edition is dubbed as the "Reflection" version of this shoe model as this was the shoe worn by Bryant when he sustained the season-ending Achilles tendon injury he sustained last season. The shoe features a reflective section, symbolizing the "reflection" stage of Bryant while he was recovering from the devastating injury.
Both the Kobe VII and VIII System that are slated for release in the upcoming weeks are part of the "Kobe Prelude Pack", which features all eight signature shoes of Bryant. This special collection serves as Nike's unique offerings before they finally release the newest signature shoe of the 15-time NBA All-Star.
The newest addition to Bryant's shoe line with Nike, known as the "Kobe 9 Elite", will hit the market next month in what is dubbed as the "Masterpiece" edition, which will come out on February 8th for $225 per pair.
Meanwhile, LeBron James is also set to make headlines not only with his impressive plays with the Miami Heat, but also with his latest sig shoe.
The Nike LeBron 11, which got a lot of attention in the final quarter of 2014, will come out in white/university red-black colorway, dubbed as the "Graffiti" edition of the shoe, on January 25th. As the name itself suggest, this shoe features a graffiti-like design on the upper part with red hints on the lining and branding.
