The mid-season finale gave Mary (Adelaide Kane) the most shocking prophecy of all, and according to Nostradamus (Rossif Sutherland), one among them is to die soon, and that someone is Francis. Hence, Mary decided to run away with Bash (Torrance Coombs). However, their planned escape was hampered when Francis caught them and things take a different turn when the future Queen's fidelity to her fiancé is being questioned because of her plan to run away with her Francis' (Toby Regbo) half-brother. This week, we are going to find out what will happen next to Mary and the rest of our royalty characters. Watch Reign season 1 episode 9 stream using the free online stream link found below.
In an interview with TV Line, show executive producer Brad Siberling revealed that "it will appear that he's betrayed Francis and essentially, she's done the same." Does this mean Mary and Bash are in big trouble? Very likely. TV Guide hints that Bash will feel betrayed at one point when soldiers start to surround him and Mary. "Mary and I have taken refuge in a small inn, but we're betrayed by the innkeeper and [soldiers] come for us," actor Torrance Coombs told TV Guide. "There are severe consequences when we get back to the castle." Spoilers reveal that Mary will have to face Queen Catherine when she returns to the palace, and Catherine will now become "more determined to keep Mary and Francis apart" Reign is set to return this Thursday, Jan. 23 at 9/8c. Meanwhile, actress Adelaide Kane revealed to E! Online recently that her character will find it more difficult to go about what lies ahead when Mary's mother, Marie de Guise (Amy Brenneman) shows up. "Her character's kind of delicious and sort of Catherine-esque in her manipulations," Kane said. "Where Catherine [queen of France] uses her children, she still ultimately loves them and wants their happiness. With Marie de Guise, she does use Mary, and it's questionable whether or not she's emotionally invested in Mary's emotional well-being."
