The Houston Rockets are currently on pace to make the playoffs barring any major collapse after the 2014 All-Star break, but that doesn't mean that they will be quiet in the coming days heading into the annual NBA trade deadline.

While most Rockets trade rumors have been about disgruntled center Omer Asik, NBA analysts believe that Jeremy Lin could be dealt by the Rockets before the deadline.

Lin has been showing a glimpse of his famous "Linsanity" moment as of late as he is averaging 14.7 points go along with 5.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds this February.

The Rockets are currently on a five-game winning run and Lin has been a critical part in that streak, averaging 16.0 points and 6.2 assists over that span.

Lin's recent outburst could convince the Rockets to hold onto him for the remainder of the season or they could also take advantage of it by trading him away before the deadline while his stock is very high. Previous reports indicated that the Rockets want to trade Lin in hopes of improving cap flexibility moving forward.

Sources said that the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers could make a push to acquire the 25-year-old point guard since both teams are still looking for backcourt help.

The Bulls are still reeling from the loss of All-Star point guard Derrick Rose, who went down with another season-ending knee injury. Chicago might have found a gem in free-agent signee D.J. Augustin, but the Bulls are still at the cellar in terms of points per game as a team.

Lin could provide additional scoring options for the Bulls and could also play a key role even with a healthy Rose next season, but it remains to be seen whether the Bulls are willing to absorb the "poison pill" contract of the former Harvard University standout.

The Lakers are also mentioned in talks about the potential landing spot of Lin mainly because of the injury bug that hit their point guards this season.

Veteran point guards Steve Nash, Steve Blake, and Jordan Farmar has been nothing but disappointment this season because all three have been in and out of the lineup due to injuries.

The Lakers have shown reluctance to absorb large contracts, but sources said that Lin's popularity could convince the Lakers to acquire him before the deadline.
