A Brooklyn dad named Edward could not be called a responsible father anymore after brutally slaying her almost two-year-old daughter, Serenity Brown, by slicing her body and feeding it to their family dog, a pit bull. After which, he allegedly killed the dog in hopes of removing any evidence that can be used against him, New York Daily News reported today.
According to the report, city social workers first found out that Serenity Brown has gone missing back in 2011 when her mother, Paula Johnson, gushed about the brutal and inhumane account on how her baby disappeared.
Based on the law enforcement sources and documents, Paula revealed that before the Brooklyn dad, Edward "Chuck" Brown, killed their daughter, he gave Serenity a fatal blow to the chest in July 2006.
However, it was not until five years later when authorities found out that the toddler has gone missing. They were even compelled to believe that no one has any knowledge on the cold case as the body of the victim was never found and that not even a single suspect was named.
The city social workers only found out about Serenity's disappearance when they paid a visit to the family's house in 2011.
Reports say the mother didn't hesitate to tell the story on what really happened to her daughter in their Brooklyn apartment.
Paula Johnson was reading a story to little Serenity inside their Canarsie apartment when Edward, her ex-convict husband, flew into a rage over the baby's sweet giggles, law enforcement sources state.
A heavy blow on to the chest of the baby left her unresponsive, according to the report. Then, the Brooklyn dad allegedly took Serenity's body from the mother, carried it into their bathroom, put her in the tub that was filled with water.
Sources said, Edward took a knife from their kitchen, turned up the volume of the radio and angrily told Paula to stay in their bedroom while she slices their baby.
Johnson later on told the investigators that after Edward sliced the baby's body, he gave it to their family dog, a pit bull.
An anonymous caller then revealed just last year that the evidence was cleaned when Brown executed their dog after the crime he did to his own daughter.
During the visit, Paula Johnson initially told the social workers that Serenity was staying with her paternal grandmother in Alabama. However, she decided to reveal the truth later on.
Serenity's paternal grandmom, Alfreddia Norris, told the Daily News that the NYPD even came to her Alabama home in 2011, believing that the missing child was with her.
Additionally, Norris defended her son from the criminal allegations Paula Johnson told the authorities. She even commented that it was Paula who is to blame for the crime.
As of late, authorities are trying to reach both Paula Johnson and Edward "Chuck" Brown, but their attempts to find more answers remain futile.
Brooklyn dad, Chuck, was barred in New York for attempted robbery in 200, but was released a year later, according to several documents.
