Anderson Silva Broken Leg Update: Silva Close To Full Strength, Boxing Match Against Roy Jones Jr. Might Not Happen

Anderson Silva is making incredible progress in his recovery from the gruesome leg injury he sustained during his rematch with Chris Weidman in December last year.
After releasing a series of videos showing him doing training drills, Silva revealed this weekend that he is already close to full strength, saying that his surgically-repaired left leg has been responding well over the past three months.
Silva said that he could make a comeback later this year as projected by Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White, but the Brazilian MMA icon reiterated that he is targeting to return in early 2015, citing personal reasons.
Silva added that his family has been convincing him to retire, but the 38-year-old former UFC middleweight champion insisted that retirement is not in sight, hinting that he is looking to fulfill the remaining eight fights in his contract.
"In a 0 to 10 scale I'm 9 right now. The doctor said I just can't jump and run. I could fight again this year but because of personal projects I should just come back in 2015, even though my family isn't happy about it," Silva said, via Bloody Elbow. "They wanted my retirement. I have eight more fights in my contract but it says that I could stop fighting right now if I want."
Previous reports indicated that Silva is looking to face Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match, but the MMA superstar now believes that the dream match will not happen.
"I don't think this is going to happen," Silva said on his dream match against Jones.
Silva pointed out that White and UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta are cold about the idea. He insisted that it would have been a historic match, but he is not expecting it to happen anymore.
"It's not an idea politically well received by Dana and Lorenzo," Silva said. "I'm trying, I always bring that subject but they are irreducible. It would be historical Roy spanking of me but this is my dream. He is also very excited to do this but it is a business issue."
