Veteran midfielder Santi Carzola revealed that the Arsenal Gunners are very interested in acquiring Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas this summer.

Arsenal are reportedly planning to replace Wojciech Szczesny as the team's top goal keeper, and Cazorla reportedly talked to Casillas about the possibility of teaming up at the Emirates Stadium.

Carzola told Sport360 that Casillas is already aware of the Gunners' interest, but the 29-year-old midfielder admitted that a move to Arsenal this summer is highly unlikely for the Spanish goalkeeper.

"I've told him [I would like him to join Arsenal], but so far he has just been curious about my experience in England," Carzola said. "His situation is very complicated, but he has to make a decision."

The 32-year-old goalkeeper has not played for Real Madrid in the La Liga as manager Carlo Ancelotti is currently impressed with the performance of Diego Lopez.

Casillas' uncertain role at the Bernabeu is creating speculations that the Real Madrid will be open to parting ways with their veteran keeper.

Aside from Arsenal, several top-tier teams in Europe are also setting their sights to Casillas, but Carzola conceded that it will be very difficult for Casillas to leave Real Madrid at this point of his career.

"Lots of clubs want him, including Arsenal, but I think that it would be very difficult to leave Real Madrid because of what the club represents," Carzola said. "He knows what he has [at Madrid] and what he could find at another club."

Casillas, who is Spain's No.1 goalkeeper, said in December that he can see himself moving out of Real Madrid at some point of his career, but he insisted that he believes will still be at the Bernabeu at least for the next five to six years.

"In the future I see myself out of Real Madrid, inside ten years," Casillas said. "At 38 it will be much more difficult for me. Today, I'm one of Los Blancos. I'm delighted to be at Real Madrid. In five or six years, we'll see."
