Netflix Online Scam: Fake Employees Pretends To Work With Netflix Victimize Company's Customers

Netflix is having some issues with online scammers who pretends to be affiliated with the company, and are trying to get private information from their consumers. The Better Business Bureau issued a warning about phishing scam that targets clients from the famous video streaming service company.
An investigation was started by an internet security expert from Malwarebytes, Jerome Segura, over online scam incidents that involves the video streaming service, Netflix. The security expert gave a statement that the illegal operations were a mixture of phishing scam and tech-support scam together.
The scam was intended for Netflix consumers who receives a fake email or a pop-up message that will redirect them to a questionable Netflix clone log-in page. Users who enters the fake log-in page will be notified that their account is temporarily suspended, they will also be asked to contact a phone number to a bogus support agent. The scammers intends to gain entry to the users computer via remote access, where they will get personal data. The agents will also try to ask for credit card information to the caller.
Report also said that the fake Netflix website is already removed from the net. The videos streaming service company gave a statement on CBS, saying that Netflix was aware of the online scam and believes that it is already terminated. The company also assured its users that they use different tactics in order to secure and protect their consumers from these kinds of scams and cyber crimes.
Reports and incidents of online scams are already on the rise since it plagued the internet. Computer security experts advices internet users to be very careful in giving someone entry to their computers through remote access. It is also advisable to be careful in divulging personal information online and also via phone conversations with agents.
