Skiing champion Lindsey Vonn admitted that her relationship with golf superstar Tiger Woods has been "tough" because of the media attention their romance has been getting.

In a recent interview, Vonn said that having a relationship on display is hard to deal with, but she gladly said that they have been doing their best to keep their relationship working.

Vonn said that the things they have in common, particularly their love of sports, have been making their relationship stronger as days pass by.

"It's been tough," Vonn said via E! News. "Having your life on display is never easy, but what I think connects us so well is sports and trying to be No. 1 in what we do. We have so much in common in that regard. We always come back to that. We always have roots."

Vonn's relationship with Woods has been making headlines since the two sports icon revealed their romance in March last year.

There are still doubts about whether or not Vonn and Woods will eventually decide to settle down, but the former Olympic skiing champion said that they are not thinking about what other people are thinking or saying about their relationship.

"And no matter what anyone has to say around us, we know who we are and that's all that matters," Vonn said.

However, Vonn's statement contradicts the latest issue surrounding their relationship as reports indicated that Woods is not allowing Vonn to talk to the golfer's ex-wife, Elin Nordegren.

Previous reports indicated that Vonn and Nordegren are getting close to each other, and have been communicating a lot over the past several months.

"You'd think it would be weird, but Elin loves Lindsey and they talk all the time," an anonymous sources was quoted as saying. "Elin likes that Lindsey is a strong woman. Lindsey is really good for Tiger. She's strong, opinionated, and keeps him in line. Elin found that they are very similar and have a lot in common."

The alleged close relationship between Vonn and Nordegren is reportedly is making Woods worried with sources saying that the current World's No. 1 golfer doesn't want his girlfriend to talk to his ex-wife.

"Elin knows all the skeletons in Tiger's closet," a Showbiz Spy source said. "He's afraid that she'll tell Lindsey something that will scare her away."
