Sony has been dominating the next-generation console competition since last fall as reports indicated that their PlayStation 4 has been outselling its main rival, Microsoft's Xbox One.
Since being released on the market, the PS4 has been enjoying tremendous sales, comparable to the success of the PS2, their second-gen console that came out in 2000.
One factor to consider is the price of each console. The PS4 is priced at $399, while the Xbox One is priced at $499.
Understandably, most gamers will go for Sony's console because it is $100 cheaper that its Microsoft counterpart, but Gotta Be Mobile pointed out that there are other factors affecting the PS4 vs Xbox One competition.
One factor is the alleged better graphic processing capabilities of PS4 compared to Xbox One. It is similar to the reviews before, which states that the PS3 has better graphics than the Xbox 360.
"The PS4 is a very competent gaming console and delivers all of the power game developers need to create titles with the best graphics and resolutions ever seen in the living room," Gotta Be Mobile noted.
Another factor is backwards compatibility or the ability to play PS3 games on PS4, and Xbox 360 games on Xbox One.
Normally, both Sony and Microsoft will not allow such thing to happen so as not to kill their earnings from their older console, but reports indicated that Sony will soon implement PS3 capability on their next-gen console.
"Unlike Microsoft, Sony's roadmap includes a service that should address this issue. It's called PlayStation Now, and it lets users play their PS3 games on the PS4 by streaming gameplay from Sony's servers," Gotta Be Mobile pointed out.
The PS4 DualShock 4 controller is also helping Sony dominate the competition as it boasts major improvements, unlike the Xbox controller of Microsoft's next-gen console.
"There may be cameras that offer motion control and voice integration, but today users still interact with their gaming console the best way they know how: with a controller. Thankfully, the PS4 controller is a godsend," Gotta Be Mobile wrote.
Gotta Be Mobile also cited Remote Play, and Sony's much-improved digital media market, allowing gamers to purchase games online, and to order new games before they even hit the market.
