Revenge season 4 is set to premiere in September, but as early as now the Web is filled with tension and excitement for the upcoming season given the game-changing twists presented as cliffhangers in the recently concluded Revenge season 3. Now that Emily/Amanda's father is back (from the dead), our protagonist might want to reconsider restructuring her revengenda. On the other hand, what's in store for Victoria now that Conrad may appear to have been killed off in the season 3 finale of Revenge? Here are some of the latest spoilers show fans are dying to find out.
Revenge season 3 wrapped up its storyline with one major game-changing twist: the return of Emily's father David Clarke, the person behind Emily Thorne's tricky schemes in destroying the Graysons since season 1. Since day 1, we were all made to believe that Emily's path of vengeance against the people who have wronged her father is the main concentration of the series. But now, it seems that she needs to re-evaluate her plans now that David Clarke has returned.
Interestingly, show writers may have already anticipated the raising of the eyebrows of show fans on why Clarke is back that's why season 4 is said to focus more on detailing what had really happened to Emily's father. Moreover, the new season will also give us one more reason to get hooked on how Emily Thorne will get even with Victoria, who apparently killed the love of her life Aiden in one of the most disturbing and haunting twists in the entire storyline of Revenge.
In a recent interview with Entertainment weekly, Revenge executive producer Sunil Nayar talked about the season 3 finale of the hit ABC series, noting the elements that made the final scenes more interesting. "To the credit of Barry [Sloane], who played the part, and to Ken Fink, who directed [the finale], and just the makeup department, it was so much more wonderfully creepy than I even thought it was gonna be," Nayar said.
Meanwhile, in a separate interview with E! News, Nayar also dished on David Clarke's return/resurrection to the show. "Even on the day we shot it, Barry just sitting there and the mouth kinda vaguely open, and how he managed to just stay committed to the moment while being dead was really remarkable. I love the image, and I thought Emily [VanCamp's] performance just seeing it was so tremendous. Her screams, and Victoria turning - it all turned out almost more wonderful and terrifying than we thought it could have been." the EP said. "So that the man that both Emily and Victoria think they knew isn't the guy at all. Whether people love it or hate it, I'm sure it's going to be a polarizing decision, there's nobody who's not going to want to know where he's been and what he's about, so we can't wait to tell those stories next season."
Interestingly, Nayar also talked about Emily's new vengeful plans in the upcoming season 4 of Revenge, given that Victoria has poisoned Aiden to death in season 3. "That's sort of what Emily's always been about, the death by 1,000 cuts; human suffering is a much greater revenge than just the emptiness of death," he told TV Line. "Especially after what Victoria did, Emily wants this woman to live, but live miserably, as opposed to dying."
Finally, Nayar's last words on the much anticipated season 4 were: "As we go into Season 4, Victoria will not only feel a sense of anger and revenge in regards to what happened to Pascal, but she essentially created this young woman, so there's also a comeuppance." He then added, "Everyone has to look at the world around them - Emily, Victoria, Daniel - and they all have to think, 'Well, we're complicit in the things that make us unhappy,' and that's something we want to look at in Season 4."
