NBA Free Agents 2014 Rumors: Will LeBron James Opt Out of His Contract with Miami Heat to Return to Cleveland Cavaliers?

Miami Heat superstar LeBron James could opt out of his contract and become a free agent this summer, but the four-time Most Valuable Players is not yet thinking about his future.

James, who team failed to win their third-straight title after losing to the San Antonio Spurs in the 2014 NBA Finals in five games, said in an interview that he is still dealing with the frustrations of failing to hit their target this season.

James said that he is planning to spend vacation with his family before dealing about his possible moves this summer - on whether or not he will opt out of the final two years of his contract with the Heat.

Like James, his superstar teammates - Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh - could also become free agents this summer, but the two are also planning to take a break before talking about their future.

"There is a conversation that will be had between the three of us -- I think that's only right," James said. "We've earned that for each other. I don't know what Dwyane right now is thinking. I don't know what Chris is thinking right now. We'll see what happens."

It is widely speculated that the 29-year-old superstar will eventually opt out his deal. It doesn't necessarily mean, though, that he will look to sign elsewhere because he might do it just for the sake of getting a fresh deal.

Previous reports indicated that several teams are expected to make a strong pitch to James, including his former team - the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have not made the playoffs since the 11-year veteran left Cleveland in 2010.

However, analysts doubt that James will return to Cleveland at this point because the Akron, Ohio native is still looking to win another title, and he believes the talented, but young roster of the Cavaliers still need several more years to have a shot at winning a championship.

The Cavaliers have Kyrie Irving and the first overall pick in the stacked 2014 NBA Draft, but James has yet to show signs that he is considering reuniting with the team that drafted him first overall in 2003.
