Katie Couric is now Mrs. John Molner, after the former "Today Show" host tied the knot with her long-time fiancé in a splendid Hamptons wedding this weekend.
Katie Couric, who was once married to the late Jay Monahan, has now officially remarried after almost 16 years of being single.
The famous talk show host, aged 57, exchanged "I do's" with her fiancé John Molner, 50, in the Hamptons in an intimate but nothing short of grand wedding ceremony, according to Daily Mail.
Katie Couric and John Molner have been exclusively dating as boyfriend-girlfriend for two years prior to their wedding in the backyard of the famous TV host and news correspondent's East Hampton, New York home.
Around 50 close friends and family reportedly joined the couple in their very special day.
Couric looked lovely on her ivory Chantilly lace gown - which was heavily embellished with intricate beading and embroidery - that was reportedly designed by Carmen Marc Valvo.
John Ellis, a dear friend of Couric and Molner, officiated the Hamptons wedding, and a lot of special people in the couple's lives took active participation in the ceremony. For example, Couric's youngest daughter did a song number to entertain the guests while Molner's nieces took part as flower girls.
In an interview with People, the 57-year-old TV host joked that her husband is a "Groomzilla," adding that Molner was actually pretty involved in the wedding planning and preparations.
Katie got engaged to John, a financier, after the latter popped the question to the former "Today Show" host during the Labor Day weekend last September. The couple have been dating for two years prior to the proposal.
Couric is a mother of two: Ellie, 22, and Carrie, 18. She shares both kids with late husband Jay Monahan, who died in 1998 due to colon cancer.
Interestingly, instead of making some cash out of her wedding photos by selling them to tabloids and entertainment news agencies, Couric intended to showcase her wedding pics directly to her fans via Twitter.
After the wedding, Couric tweeted a photo of her and her fiancé turned husband adding a sweet caption which read: "So excited to make my debut as Mrs. John Molner!"
Prior to the couple's wedding, Katie already revealed that she and her then-fiancé wanted a low-key wedding.
"This is not my first rodeo so I didn't want to go too crazy and neither did John," Katie said then.
The newlyweds are reportedly planning to have their honeymoon in December adding that they still don't have a fixed destination, but New Zealand is already on top of their list.
"I've never been there and always been on my bucket list," Couric told E! Online.
A Chicago native, Molner is the head of mergers and acquisitions at investment bank and securities firm Brown Brothers Harriman. He has a son and a daughter from his previous relationship.
