Dakota Johnson playing Anastasia Steele, opposite Jamie Dornan's Christian Grey, on Universal's movie adaptation of E.L. James' hot novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" is no fresh news, but it seems many fans of the book (and the movie) are still in denial of the young actress being cast to play the lead female role in the controversial trilogy.
After Universal dropped the official trailer for "Fifty Shades of Grey" - debuting it on "The Today Show" early in the morning for fans to start their day right - the clip has instantly received a lot of love from many people including those curious souls who may or may not have any clue at all on what the movie is all about.
While the slamming and the backlash for the book continued on the trailer (and possibly the movie), there's another thing that has obviously caused a huge stir on the Internet today. And that is no other than Dakota Johnson's appearance.
Several fans and general viewers were quick to express their disappointment over Johnson's casting, let alone her appearance on the official first global trailer of "Fifty Shades of Grey."
"I think christian is okay, but they need to spruce ana up a bit. she has potential there but i think they made her look a bit frumpy in the beginning," a Batman Melissa wrote on the comments section of the official trailer uploaded on YouTube.
"I agree, Ana is the least fitting in my opinion. She looks older than Christian! (And in real life she is 7 years younger)," a Jennifer Reynoso commented.
"I feel like Ana looks like a bad Zoey Deschannel," Youtube user Toxic Envy opined.
"Dakota Johnson looks older than the dude playing Christian even though she's younger. Lol," YouTube user Tsunade dished.
"I've read the books and I'm a bit disappointed by the casting. But I will cast my final vote when I see the film," a David Ford quipped.
Does Dakota Johnson make the perfect Anastasia Steele? Apparently, the two minutes or something trailer is not enough to answer this question. We'll just have to wait and see when the film officially hit theaters on Valentine's Day of 2015.
