Nike is expected to make headlines this weekend with the release of two excellent sneakers, which have been making noise over the past several weeks.
The newest colorway of Kevin Durant's seventh signature shoe with Nike - the KD VII - is now available on the sneaker market and will surely be one of the hottest shoes in days to come.
The KD VII "Global Game" sports a red-based upper part with silver accents, particularly on the Nike Swoosh and KD logo on the tongue, along with a visible Nike Zoom Air bag to provide top-level cushioning.
This edition is said to be related to the upcoming World Basketball Festival where Durant is expected to be one of the featured athletes as he is set to lead USA Basketball in the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain.
"This all-red colorway features a globe graphic on the tongue and a confetti-adorned Swoosh. Durant will lead USA Basketball into a busy summer basketball season that begins with the World Basketball Festival in the Windy City of Chicago this August, and wraps up in Spain at the Basketball World Cup this September," Nike said in a statement.
Like the previous KD VII, this edition has personal cues on it as a silhouette of Durant's home state - Maryland - is embedded on the outsole and the names of his mother, grandmother, father, and brother are visible on the forefoot strap of the shoe.
This edition, which is officially listed as the Action Red/Metallic Silver colorway of the shoe, is now available for $150 per pair in select Nike accounts worldwide.
Aside from Durant's latest signature shoe, another shoe that is expected to turn heads starting Saturday is the newest edition of the Air Jordan 14 Retro.
The Air Jordan 14 Retro "Wolf Grey" has a grey-based leather upper part along with sport blue hints and dark grey hints on the midsole that sit on a white outsole.
This edition, which is officially listed as the Wolf Grey/White-Sport Blue colorway of the shoe, will be available in full family sizing. The men's size will sell at $170, grade school for $120, preschool for $75 and toddler for $55 per pair.
