Nike's Jordan Brand is set to make waves once again this week with the release of several new sneakers that will surely turn heads on the sneaker market.
First up is the newest edition of the Air Jordan 6 Retro - the "Varsity Red" edition, which is officially listed as the Varsity Red/Black-White-Classic Green colorway of the shoe.
This edition, which is also known as the 'History of Jordans' version of this sneaker, sports a red-based upper part with black and green hints along with a white midsole and laser-printed sock liner. According to Nike, this edition was made to pay tribute to Spike Lee and his 40 Acres and a Mule company.
"The newest colorway of the Air Jordan 6 Retro is a tribute to Spike Lee and his 40 Acres and a Mule production company," Nike said in a statement. "The Air Jordan 6 Retro amplifies the Varsity Red and Classic Green accents from the original Jordan Spizike, with an all Varsity Red upper and hints of Classic Green along with a white midsole and translucent outsole. The collar print is taken from the Air Jordan XX."
The Air Jordan 6 Retro "Varsity Red" will be available on Saturday, Aug. 9 at 8 a.m. EST, with retail price is set at $170 per pair.
To be released simultaneously with this retro sneaker is the Jordan Spizike, which is set to hit the market in its original colorway - the White/Cement Grey-Classic Green-Varsity Red colorway.
This edition, which is also a tribute to Lee and his company, features a white-based upper part with red, green, and elephant print along with laser-printed detailing. It is finished off with a white midsole and green outsole.
"The Jordan Spizike combines the iconic elements of the Jordan III, IV, V, VI and XX. Returning in its original color, the Jordan Spizike pairs with the Air Jordan 6 Retro as a tribute to Spike Lee and his 40 Acres and a Mule production company," the shoe as described by Nike.
The Jordan Spizike OG will also hit stores on Saturday and will be available for $175 per pair in select Jordan Brand accounts worldwide.
