There has definitely been a lot of changes from Mischa Barton seven years ago to the Mischa Barton this 2014. For one thing, the now 28-year-old actress is rumored to be broke and struggling both financially and career-wise.
News broke today that the Mischa Barton this 2014 has apparently been in some tough and trying times such that she couldn't pay for Beverly Hills mansion anymore. The property was even put in foreclosure by the lender who claims that the television and film actress has not been paying her due religiously, reported People citing sources.
The lender also gushed that things can only be settled once the "The O.C." alumna pays her current due, if not the English-Irish actress will most likely lose the property indefinitely.
This 2014, Mischa Barton is reportedly traversing her two mansions: one in London and the other is this recently foreclosed property in Los Angeles.
TMZ first revealed that according to documents they have obtained, Barton's LA home has eight bedrooms, 11 baths and 3 guesthouses, and it is said to be nestled on 1.2 acres of land.
Sources said it's quite unfortunate that the former Hollywood It Girl is far from the Mischa Barton 2014.
Back in 2005 while her career is quickly picking up, Barton reportedly loaned $4.2 million to secure the Beverly Hills mansion, which is valued at $6.4 million.
Everything was working out for her back then until 2007 when her show went off the air and she got arrested for DUI.
Following which, her career became unstable. The Irish beauty even had a "full-on breakdown" which lead to her stint at a psychiatric ward in June 2009.
Recalling her past, Barton spoke to People last year, saying her psychiatric ward stint "was terrifying," noting, "Straight out of Girl, Interrupted. Story of my life."
In 2010, Barton reportedly listed her LA mansion for $8.69 million but no one seemed to be interesting in buying it. In 2011, she relisted it, but to no avail.
Meanwhile, in her attempt to get back on track, Mischa Barton is ready to take on almost anything that the showbiz industry has to offer to her this 2014.
Struggling for a possible comeback, she is currently in line to play small roles in a couple of films including "Throwdown," "Gutsy Frog," and "Hope Lost," among others.
In a recent interview this 2014, Mischa Barton was quoted saying, "I've learned a lot. I'm stronger now, and I'm excited for what's ahead."
