A girl falls to death in Yellowstone when she accidentally lost her footing while hiking with her family, Mercury News first reported.
An 8-year-old has apparently fallen to her death in Yellowstone Sunday morning in the Grand Canyon, says the National Park Service.
According to authorities, the "girl falls to her death in Yellowstone" story happened why the young one was happily hiking with her family down a trail.
While the family and the girl were walking on the north side of the canyon to the Brink of the Lower Falls overlook, the victim accidentally stepped off the trail and falls to her death.
The agency claims the 8-year-old lost her balance while she was making her way to her other family members; thus, when she lost her footing, she quickly fell down the rocks and was announced dead by responding authorities.
The body of the girl was reportedly retrieved Sunday afternoon and she was identified as Zahra Allahyari (ZEHR'-ah AHL'-lah-yahr-ee) of Poway, California, reported Daily Mail.
