The final season of "Two and a Half Men" is set to kick off soon and fans of the popular comedy series might see a familiar face in the 12th season.
TV Guide Magazine reported that Charlie Sheen might make a return in the comedy series as the actor confirmed that he has already reached out to the producers about the possibility of making a special appearance.
"I've reached out to them and they've reached back," Sheen said. "We're trying to figure out what makes the most sense. If they figure it out like I've presented it to them and they want to include me in some final send-off, I'm available and I'm showing up early. If not, it's on them."
Sheen's character, Charlie Harper, was killed in the long running sitcom in 2011 after he blasted 'Two and a Half Men' executive producer Chuck Lorre and CBS. Sheen also sued Lorre and CBS along with Warner Bros. and the sitcom's studio during that year, which makes most insiders believe that a return is highly unlikely.
Michael Schneider of TV Guide reported that most insiders believe that the producers and people related to the popular sitcom have not reached out to Sheen. The actor also previously expressed interest in returning to the show before, but to no avail - and this year's lobbying might not lead to a return again.
CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler said earlier this year that there will be a lot of surprises in the final season of the comedy series, but she said that time that they are not considering reviving Sheen's character.
But when asked about the possibility, Sheen said that he is optimistic that the producers will strongly consider his comeback after making peace with Lorre - not personally, though, but ethereally.
"Ethereally we have, personally we have not," Sheen said when asked if he has already made peace with the 'Two and a Half Men' executive producer. "But I'm easy to grab. He was doing his job, I was doing mine. At the end of the day, the guy's a genius. Look at what he does. I don't have to spend time with him anymore for him to be brilliant."
