Boxing News and Fight Schedule 2014: Timothy Bradley Interested In Facing Miguel Cotto, Canelo Alvarez In 2015

Timothy Bradley is looking for big fights next year, and the former World Boxing Organization welterweight champion wants a shot against Miguel Cotto and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Bradley was linked to Cotto earlier this year before his camp settled for a showdown against Diego Chaves on December 13 in Las Vegas.

The former world champion said that he is not disappointed that the Cotto fight did not materialize, saying that he is still optimistic that the fight could still happen in the future.

"I'm not really disappointed. It's boxing, guys have plans and if our plans don't meet up right away it doesn't mean that fight won't ever happen later on," Bradley said in an interview with On The Ropes Boxing Radio. "The fight didn't materialize like I wanted to but there's always somebody else out there that's looking to challenge me."

Bradley, who absorbed the first loss of his career in his rematch against Pacquiao in April, also expressed interest in facing Alvarez, who will likely face Cotto in a super fight in May next year.

The 31-year-old welterweight pointed out that he is always open to facing the biggest names in boxing, but it is up to other fighters if they want to face him on top of the ring.

"It's never up to me, it's always up to them," Bradley said. "If it makes sense, let's do it. That's the way I approach it now and I think any of those fights can materialize sooner or later, with Canelo, Cotto and all these big names in boxing. I embrace any top guy out there, bring it on, let's do it."

A showdown against either Cotto or Alvarez means that Bradley will have to move up in weight from 147 pounds up to 160 pounds. While most analysts aren't sure how effective Bradley will be in higher weight class, the California native is confident that he can handle bigger opponents.

"Going up to 160lbs, why not? I walk around at 170lbs, sometimes I get even above 170lbs," Bradley said. "When I'm not training, when I'm not doing anything, I eat and my body naturally goes up to a higher weight. 160 is not bad for me, it's not bad at all."
