Clay Aiken's Journey to the Congress Seat Doesn't End So Well

Former American Idol finalist Clay Aiken is entering the world of politics as he runs for Congress under the Democratic group in this year's election in North Carolina's 2nd district. Aiken grew up in North Carolina and it is a way for him to give back to his hometown. It is a busy year for this congress nominee and part of his routine involves him going on tour in the area as part of his campaign when his bus suddenly broke down after just leaving a poll station.

Aiken's bus campaign met an accident around 9 in the morning, November 4, 2014 after voting at Mills Park Elementary School in the city of Cary, North Carolina. This is not the only unfortunate event for this former reality TV star because today, it was announced that he just lost his position in Congress as Republican nominee Renee Ellmers wins the vote of the people.

This is not exactly the first time Aiken didn't win from something that involves people's votes. It was back in 2003 when he got about 12 million votes from a nationwide poll in the United States, which still made him just a runner-up as Reuben Studdard was hailed the American Idol on the show's second season.

And now as he aspires to become a politician, the vote came close for him to win but still was not enough. Aiken sure did make the election interesting since it is a Southern district, the chances of him winning is not that high because not a lot of people there are very much accepting about him being gay. Despite of that fact, he still managed to win some votes that almsot made him win against his Republican opponent.

As of the moment, there has been no comment received from Aiken after the whole result was announced.
