Billboard finally confirmed that Kay Perry is going to perform on the upcoming Superbowl XLIX. The talk about her playing for the show has been around since August of this year. Fans could expect her to perform some of her hits from her latest album called Roar.
Rumor has it that the NFL is inviting her to perform along with other huge stars in the music business namely Coldplay and Rihanna but in a pay to play deal on August. This means that they will have to pay the company so they could play for the show. The artist made a comment about the rumor saying she is not the type of girl who would do a pay to play act for the Superbowl.
The NFL was rumored to go with this deal since they noticed the success in revenue of those artists who guested in America's biggest sport event. And after those artists made an appearance on their show, they tend to gain more popularity and earn more from tours and album sales. They said that the company sees that now as an opportunity for them to also profit from it.
But since the Roar singer's latest answer about this rumor, it just seems to confirm that she is not paying to play for the said event. Billboard pointed out a lot of reasons why the singer has to be in the show anyway like her huge amount of followers and the success in sales of her current album. She has about 58 million followers on Twitter and this is even before appearing on Superbowl. Her latest songs will surely be significant in the show especially when they are considered to be family-friendly materials.
The 2 other shortlisted artists have not released any confirmation to the press about their involvement and the NFL also does not have any comment from all of these at all.
