Plot kill queen Elizabeth - Four men have been arrested for planning to assassinate the Queen of England with knifes at this weekend's Remembrance Day in London.
British Counter terrorist police say the suspects behind the plot to kill Queen Elizabeth II are connected to radical Islamists. The men aged between 19 and 27 had allegedly planned to stab the 88 years old monarch during the country's commemoration of the end of the First World War. This is the 93rd years since World War I ended.
Reports indicate that the suspects may have connections to terrorist groups. Police say the plot to kill Queen Elizabeth may be part of a wider terror attack on the UK.
According to reports from the Metropolitan Police Service, all four suspects were arrested without incident. Their cars and homes in Buckinghamshire and West London have been raided and are being searched.
The plot to kill Queen Elizabeth has not stopped the monarch from attending the annual British jubilee. Authorities say the queen has been informed about the plot. Prime Minister David Cameron, who is also scheduled to attend the weekend festivities, has reportedly also been made aware of the plot to kill Queen Elizabeth.
The Queen is expected to lay the first wreath at the Royal British Legion Festival, which would be held this Sunday at the Royal Albert Hall.
This is not the first plot to kill Queen Elizabeth which has been foiled. But British authorities say the country faces new threats with the rise of radical Islamists, such as the Islamic State. In August the U.K. national threat was raised to "severe" from "substantial," meaning terror attacks were likely to occur.
The foiled Remembrance Day assassination plot to kill Queen Elizabeth comes after the Islamic State called on its followers to carry-out attacks in Britain, Australia and the United States.
