Disney and Lucas Film are allegedly planning to attach a "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer in the premiere of "Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015," Collider reported.
The two movies are distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture and hailed as the company's biggest projects for 2015. "The Avengers" will premiere eight months before "Star Wars", thus making it the proper vehicle for the film preview.
In the Box Office Mojo report, "The Avengers" currently holds the number one spot for top grossing Disney movies. The May 1 play date is expected to have a huge audience, which is beneficial for the upcoming trailer of "Star Wars", according to Film.
Rumors surfaced that the said trailer will be launched first in the Stars Wars Celebration, which is a fan gathering event happening at Anaheim Convention Center in California. The occasion will be from April 16 to 19 and "Star Wars Episode 7" cast will probably be introduced. Fans can still purchase tickets for the celebration.
Meanwhile, iTunes branded the trailer for "Star Wars" as the first teaser, which means a second teaser is coming up before the full-length trailer is revealed in May. Another possibility is Disney will present a preview at the Super Bowl in February. Previous Disney movies such as "Need for Speed" and "Iron Man 3" launched their trailers in the said event, Screen Crush reported.
The reception of the first sneak peek revealed the fans anticipation for the film franchise. "Star Wars" released the first teaser on Nov. 28 and gained over 11 million views on YouTube.
In a quick span of time, fans have created parodies and mash ups out of the video. Several supporters even posted clips about their reviews and reactions of the sneak peek, Cinema Blend reported.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will be in theatres on Dec. 18, 2015.
