Taylor Swift requested to ban Australian model Jessica Hart from the 2014 Victoria's Secret fashion show, a year after she commented that the singer is not fit to be a VS angel, Fox News reported.
On Tuesday, Swift performed at the fashion event for the second time around while the model was absent. "It's not been announced that Jessica is not walking, but it was a direct request from Taylor that this be the case if she were to go," the source revealed to New York Daily News.
The arrangement was supposed to be confidential. "No one can know that Taylor requested Ms. Hart not be in the show. They want to keep that under wraps, but that's the facts," the source added.
At last year's fashion show, the pop star performed while Hart strutted in the runway. The model was asked by the media if Swift can be a Victoria's Secret angel and she answered "No". "I think, you know what, god bless her heart. I think she's great but, I don't know, to me, she didn't fit." Hart said.
The Australian lady further explained her candid statement. "I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we've been working for 14, 15 years; what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age. It's definitely the benchmark of all jobs," Hart added.
Fans of the pop star reacted negatively to the news, however, no remark came from Swift herself. In an interview with Vogue Australia, Hart admitted: "It was taken out of context, but I have certainly learnt my lesson."
Meanwhile, Victoria's Secret executive Ed Razek confirmed that the comment did not affect Hart's contract with the company and the VS angel is still under their care, according to Daily Mail.
Prior to the show on Tuesday, Hart posted an Instagram photo with the caption: "Throwback to this time last year.. Good luck to all the girlies tonight! Can't wait to see all your amazing outfits @victoriassecret @vspink have so much fun .. Love you ALL ! #vsfashionshow2014,' the blonde beauty captioned the throwback image."
Tuesday came and Hart was nowhere to be seen. As of this time, Swift has not released a statement about the alleged banning incident.
