"Transformers 5" has a new director and new cast members, International Business Times reported.
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" director, Jonathan Liebesman will reportedly replace Michael Bay in directing the "Transformers" sequel.
Bay talked about his refusal to direct the franchise. "There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles," Bay said.
The director discussed the challenges that his replacement will face. "There's a lot that's unexplored, but that's for the next director to figure out. They're hard movies to do and it takes everyday for two years. They're fun, but they're hard, "Bay added.
Aside from the director, Mark Wahlberg will not return to star in the franchise. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Bruce Willis are allegedly the new lead characters of the film.
Johnson will be an asset for the franchise since he has starred in box office hits such as "Fast and the Furious and "G.I. Joe." Willis is a Hollywood royalty that will surely generate more viewers, What Culture reported.
Meawnhile, Megan Fox who appeared in the first two movies is also rumored to join in the next film. Fox has expressed her willingness to reprise the role.
"If [Bay] ever wanted me to do a cameo like assembling an autobot motorcycle in a bike shop or something like that, I would totally do it, Fox said, according to Christian Post.
Other rumors surfaced that there will be an addition of new Autobots namely Ultra Magnus, Red Alert and Override. Ultra Magnus is connected with the villain Galvatron in "Transformers: Age of Extinction."
On the other hand, some fans speculate that there will be no human cast in the sequel and it will be dominated by computer generated imagery characters.
"Transformers 5" will hit theatres on 24 June, 2016.
