Disney Bus Crash - A 29-year-old woman has been pronounced dead after she was involved in a car crash with a Disney World tour bus and another vehicle early Monday morning near Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.
The deceased, who has been identified as Amelia Davis of Windermere by Florida Highway Patrol, reportedly crossed a red light at the Western Way and Buena Vista drive intersection before she collided with the Disney tour bus.
Highway officials say after the initial Disney bus crash, the Honda CVR that Davis was driving spun out of control and only stopped after it slammed into a 2015 Chevy Cruze on the road.
Sgt. Kim Montes, who revealed that about 20 passengers were on the bus at the time of the Disney bus crash, says no one was harmed besides Davis. The Disney bus was reportedly being driven by Fard Karim, 58. Meanwhile, the driver of the third vehicle involved in the accident has been identified as Jeremy Mercado, 24. He was reportedly riding with Sarah Haidar, 23.
It is unclear if there was a traffic light malfunction, as Davis is reported to have moved her car just as the Disney tour bus was cleared to move.
A Highway Patrol report says Davis was attempting to make a left turn after crossing the traffic light, when the left side of her car was hit by the oncoming Disney bus. The Disney bus crash ultimately sent Davis' car spinning into Mercado's Chevy Cruze.
It is unclear what exactly led to Davis' death. Reports indicate that an investigation has been opened into the Disney bus crash.
Meanwhile, Walt Disney has not made any statement on the accident. In 2010, a Disney World bus was involved in an accident in Buena Vista after a 9-year-old was dragged under the rear tire of the bus when he attempted to touch the bus while riding his bicycle.
