Iggy Azalea will collaborate with Britney Spears for a single in 2015, Daily Mail reported.
In an interview with Kiss 108, Iggy Azalea revealed that she will team up with Britney Spears to record a new song.
"We have a song, which is going to be her first single, coming out next year," the rapper revealed.
Azalea shared the possible date for their collaboration.
"I still haven't really got to have a conversation with her, so I'm hoping New Year's will be the time I can get her in a corner," she added.
The idea started when Spears revealed that she wanted to work with the Australian rapper.
"She said they would like to work with me in an interview and they reached out. We recorded a few different things and then one of those just ended up being, I think, undeniably great," Azalea said.
Fans are excited about the duet and the artist has shared her enthusiasm as well.
"Hopefully everybody will get to hear it at the beginning of next year. I think people are really going to love and enjoy it. It's a really fun track," the rapper said.
As the news spread about the upcoming track, social media users tried to guess the kind of song the artists will record, according to MTV.
An avid fan of Azalea with username SpaceJamIggy tweeted: "This Britney - Iggy collab can either be iconic or a repeat of Booty."
The fan made a good move since the rapper replied to her question. Azalea posted: "to answer ur question: bliss isn't real or the name of our song. also our song isn't about booty or sonically similar. :-)"
"Booty" is the rapper's collaboration with Jennifer Lopez that became quite a hit. Followers of the artist are glad to know that the new mix will be something fresh.
To keep the excitement, Azalea did not reveal further information but shared details about her upcoming tour. The Australian artist tweeted: "Also my tour is called "The Great Escape Tour" and this name is somewhat relatable to what ill be naming Album2."
Fans of the rapper have a lot to watch out for in the coming year aside from the Azalea-Spears collaboration. The artist is to release a duet with Jennifer Hudson entitled "Trouble"
Meanwhile, Spears will release an album in 2015, which includes the duet with the rapper as her carrier single, Billboard reported.
