Woodhouse Brothers C-SPAN - Two brothers, who are political analysts, were surprised and embarrassed on Tuesday after their mother called into C-SPAN while they were speaking on air to rebuke them for arguing with one another.
"I was very glad that this Thanksgiving was a year that you two were supposed to go to your in-laws," the mother of Dallas and Brad Woodhouse, who was only identified as Joy, said. "And I'm hoping you'll have some of this out of your system when you come here for Christmas."
"I would really like a peaceful Christmas," she added.
Dallas and Brad Woodhouse were on C-SPAN's Washington Journal to discuss their new documentary Woodhouse Divided. Shortly before their mother called in, the brothers were explaining that the documentary, which focuses on their political differences, represents the experiences of the average American family.
Dallas Woodhouse is a Republican and president of Carolina Rising, while Brad Woodhouse, who is a Democrat like his mother, is the president of Americans United for Change.
According to C-SPAN host Steve Scully, the Woodhouse brothers C-SPAN moment was unplanned. Their mother had reportedly dialed in to contribute to the show like any other viewer.
Prior to the Woodhouse brothers C-SPAN scolding, their mother is simply identified as "Joy in North Carolina." Dallas Woodhouse was actually expressing some excitement at having a caller from "down South", when the caller inadvertently revealed her identify as she said "Well, you're right, I'm from the down South."
"Oh God, it's Mom," a surprised Dallas said to his brother Brad, who was already full of smiles - apparently in disbelief.
During the Woodhouse brother's C-SPAN scolding, their mother disagreed with their claims that all American families are divided politically. "I'm your mother," she said. "And I disagree that all families are like ours. I don't know many families that are fighting at Thanksgiving."
The epic Woodhouse brothers C-SPAN moment has gone viral on the internet and made the headline in many publications. The incident put a winding debate to rest once and for all - that no matter how old you are, you can still be scolded by your Mama.
