Ansel Elgort denies gay rumors on Twitter, Huffington Post reported.
Ansel Elgort has been hounded with gay rumors this year and the actor decided to answer it on Twitter. Elgort posted: "Just in case it isn't clear... I like girls. A lot."
The "Fault In Our Stars" actor shared his views about homosexuality. Elgort wrote: "Also let me say if I was gay I wouldn't hide it. Being gay or straight isn't bad or good it just IS. U are who you are. Be true to yourself."
Early this year, speculations about Elgort's gender preference were fueled by an Instagram post. In the picture, the actor and his co-star Nat Wolff imitated the intimate "The Fault In Our Stars" poster with the caption: "Love is blind. #tfios @natandalex."
The actor proved that he likes girls since Elgort was spotted getting cozy with "Modern Family" actress Sarah Hyland at Taylor Swift's 25th birthday bash. Hyland shared an Instagram photo of herself and the newly single Elgort in a tight hug, according to J-14.
In the middle of the year, Elgort broke up with his high school sweetheart ballerina, Violetta Komyshan. The pair reportedly tried to save the relationship but the lack of time due to Elgort's busy schedule ended it.
After the break up, it took several months before Elgort explored the dating scene. The "Divergent" actor tried to have a date while filming in Amsterdam but due to his fast rising popularity, fans can get in the way, according to Entertainment Wise.
Elgort's GQ interview reveals: "Ansel meets a girl, and they make a plan to grab waffles. By the time they're done eating, a mob of fans and photographers has gathered out front."
The actor may be single but fans are actually looking forward that Elgort will have an off screen relationship with Shailene Woodley, who played as his love interest in the hit movie "The Fault In Our Stars." The two are going to be co-stars again in the upcoming film "Divergent Series: Insurgent" but this time, they will play as brothers and sisters.
Woodley was asked in an interview about her relationship with Elgort.
"We went from brother and sister to lovers and now we're back in the brother-sister game," Woodley replied.
"Divergent Series: Insurgent" will hit theatres on March 18, 2015.
