FedEx Truck Accident: Holiday Presents Scatter All Over Georgia Highway As Truck Crashes Into Median Barrier [VIDEO]

FedEx Truck Accident - The driver of a northbound FedEx truck lost control of one of his trailers on Georgia's Interstate 75 this Tuesday, sending packages flying all over the highway as he crashed into the median barrier.

The spokesperson for Monroe County Sheriff Allison Selman-Williams told AP that the unidentified driver of the 18-wheel truck, who was hauling two trailers, lost control of one of the attached trailers after it became detached from his truck.

He subsequently crashed into the median barrier of the highway as he tried to regain control of the loose truck. According to Selman-Williams, the driver at the center of the FedEx truck accident sustained only minor injuries. But a passenger in the truck is reported to have been hospitalized after the crash. It is unclear if he/she is also an employee of FedEx.

Several packages - presumably holiday gifts - were spilled on the busy highway after the FedEx truck accident. Reports indicate that the spilled items include food stuffs and electronic devices, some of which sustained damages during the accident.

Local authorities assisted employees of the logistics company in clearing up the debris from the FedEx truck accident. Some employees of the company have reportedly been assigned to inspect the recovered items. Local sources say some of the retrieved items were loaded into another truck.

FedEx has urged everyone who feels their package may be part of those in the crash to call 1-800-GO-FEDEX or visit the company's website and track the delivery of their goods. At the moment it is unclear how many packages were destroyed by the FedEx truck accident and how much the items cost.

This is the second FedEx truck accident this week. The other crash, which occurred in New Jersey, was not very much different from this one. Many critics have noted that this sort of publicity is not what the company during the holidays, which is usually a busy time for logistics and delivery firms.

The deputy Sheriff of Monroe County Timothy Campfield has revealed that the presence of debris on I-75 from the FedEx truck accident has led to some minor incidents. "I see a lot of packages here and I agree with you, its bad with it being Christmas," he said. "However, the bright side of this whole ordeal is that nobody was hurt severely."
