Mall Of Georgia Flash Mob Wedding - A young lady could hardly contain her excitement when her make-believe wedding photo shoot turned out to be the prelude to her actual wedding ceremony at the Mall of Georgia.
Christina McGinnis, who was at the Buford shopping complex to do a shoot for a photographer friend on Dec. 14, says she had no idea that her day would turn out as it did. "I didn't have a clue," she said. "Not one clue."
Christina has been with her fiancé Brian Green since 2010. The two of them got engaged in 2013 and have a 23-month-old baby named Aspen.
Brian, who is the mastermind behind the surprise wedding, revealed that he and Christina have found planning a conventional wedding tiresome and costly.
According to Brian, this took away the 'purpose' and 'excitement' of their marriage. "The wedding is just the ceremony. The marriage is what's important, so I just wanted to focus on the marriage."
But Brian's idea of a simple wedding has sent the internet world buzzing. The expertly captured video of the Mall of Georgia flash mob wedding has gone viral since it was uploaded on YouTube.
The description of the footage, which was reportedly captured by relatives of Christina and Brian, says "This is the story of a groom who dared to create something special for his bride."
In the 4-minute video, a high-spirited Christina is shown walking through the Mall of Georgia complex to the site of her photo shoot, which unknown to her is also the site of her wedding. Moments later, her father Michael meets with her and breaks the big news. "You're getting married today."
This statement made Christina start to shed tears in joy. But that was just part of the surprise. Her mother Tina joins her in the picture.
Within moments, Christina's friends and relatives formed an isle on the other side of the giant Christmas tree that she was standing behind, and she was led by her dad to a makeshift altar where Brian and a preacher stood waiting.
Despite being short and seemingly impromptu, the mal of Georgia flash mob wedding has captured the imagination of many, people. At least one commentator has described it as the "best" wedding ever.
