50 Cent Instagram - How would you like to read an editorial written by multi-platinum selling artist 50 Cent? Well, you don't have to wait for long as the 39-year-old entrepreneur takes charge of NY Daily News' Confidenti@l section on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, is expected to bring a lot of scoops to the news desk from his meeting with celebrities at the upcoming 72nd Golden Globes award this weekend.
The 50 Cent NY Daily News guest editor gig will see him attend new briefings, draft stories and select pictures for the paper's gossip column. 50 Cent will also interact with readers live in a web chat.
"Yes, we've gift-rapped the opportunity for YOU to hear from one of the most interesting voices in show business," the NY Daily News wrote on their blog.
Fans have been invited to tweet with the #NYDNChat hashtag or drop their questions here for 50 Cent.
50 Cent made the headlines last year after he challenged boxer Floyd Mayweather to read a page of Harry Potter or any book of his choosing for $750,000. 50 Cent, who was reportedly issuing the special Ice Bucket Challenge to his former pal, said he was ready to forward the pay to any charity of Mayweather's choosing.
The pro-literacy figure that 50 Cent is increasingly becoming is very much different from the gun-toting 'gangster' image that he created for himself after bursting into the musical scene in 2003 with his Get Rich or Die Tryin album. Then again, 50 Cent has changed drastically in many ways since the success of his debut.
NY Daily News editor Raakhee Mirchandani has revealed that indeed it is true 50 Cent will be coming to work at the paper for a day. "We're hoping for a little Chelsea Handler Skype or email action," he said.
50 Cent also confirmed the news to Billboard saying, "Everyone better get ready."
On Friday, the rapper posted a photo of himself on the NY Daily News Confidenti@l section with the message: "NEW YORK DAILY NEWS I'm taking over."
We wonder how much 50 Cent would be paid to be the fulltime editor of a publication...definitely not 50 cents.
