Atlanta Falcons Coach - The rumor mill is running wild with just three NFL head coaching positions still available. The Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears and Atlanta Falcons are still on the pursuit for the best coach to lead them next season.
It's no secret that the Atlanta Falcons have interviewed several candidates for their head coaching position. Fans have since known about the impending change of coach following another bad season last year.
Reports indicate that Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is a favorite candidate to land the Atlanta Falcons coaching job after Mike Smith's dismissal last month.
According to Adam Schefter, the Falcons have reached a personal agreement with Quinn and both parties are willing to wait after having met once already. Both Quinn and the Flacons would be allowed to meet as per NFL rules next week regardless of the outcome of the Seahawks conference championship game on Sunday.
According to ESPN reports, the Atlanta Falcons will do everything in their power to stop offensive line coach Mike Tice from reuniting with new Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio. The Falcons are blocking their coaching assistants from speaking with other teams as they finalize the move for a new head coach.
However, reports say it may not be so easy as Oakland and Del Rio want to officially ask permission for Tice, who has one more year left on his contract. Tice was Del Rio's assistant while the latter was head coach in Jacksonville.
Falcons special-teams coordinator Keith Armstrong has also been blocked from an opportunity of reuniting with Todd Bowles, the new New York Jets head coach, who was his college teammate at Temple. Armstrong is certainly valued by the Falcons, whose special teams he has been in charge of since 2008.
