Ryan Anderson Alabama - Police in Tuscaloosa have arrested an Alabama Crimson Tide Football player and his girlfriend on domestic violence charges following an altercation on Monday night.
Junior linebacker Ryan Anderson and his 20-year-old girlfriend Sierra Patterson were arrested on Tuesday and both charged with misdemeanor, third-degree domestic violence and criminal mischief with a $500 Bond.
According to reports, the incident happened on late Monday night inside the yard of a home located on the 1300 block of 17th Street East. Authorities say Anderson and Patterson got into an argument in the yard which escalated when the pair started throwing things at each other.
Patterson reportedly keyed and threw unspecified objects at Anderson's car - the redshirt sophomore retaliated and kicked her vehicle. Tuscaloosa police reports indicate that although both vehicles were clearly damaged. Anderson and Patterson where not visibly injured.
It's not immediately clear what may have pushed the lover's over the edge. However, according to the state laws, third-degree criminal mischief includes intentionally damaging another person's property in an amount that doesn't exceed $500.
Ryan Anderson is a Daphne native and featured in all 14 games of Alabama's 2014 campaign where he made a total of 25 tackles. Eight of his tackles were for loss while he also had third sacks, finishing fourth on the team . He came into the season with five major tackles in his career.
Ryan Anderson becomes a senior this year and is expected to play a crucial role in Alabama's defense. Although he has not yet started a game yet, his chances of getting a place in the starting outside linebacker position are high - especially in the absence of senior Xzavier Dickson.
Alabama coach Nick Saban has said that after reviewing the entire story of Anderson's arrest he would come to a decision.
