Davon Tucker - A New Jersey man driving on a suspended license, who was stopped in Milton, Delaware for speeding, has been arrested after police found marijuana and about 15,000 bags of heroine in his vehicle.
32-year-old Davon Tucker of Paterson was stopped around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday in Sussex County during a speed enforcement campaign in the area.
According to Delaware State Police reports, after troopers stopped Tucker's vehicle, they questioned him about the strong smell of marijuana emanating from his car. Tucker, who was in the car with an unidentified 29-year-old woman, admitted to possessing pot and opened his console and turned over a plastic bag containing about 3 grams of marijuana.
Master Cpl. Gary E. Fournier said officials subsequently asked Tucker and the female passenger to get out of the car for a search to be conducted. Authorities found about 15,000 small bags of heroine ready for street sale in his trunk.
The bags of heroine found in a blue plastic bag wrapped with clear freezer bags had "Troy 100" written on it.
The 15,000+ bags of heroine weighed about 224.91 grams and are estimated to be worth about $15,000. The small heroine packs would have sold for $10 apiece on the streets.
Tucker's bust has been described as one of the biggest heroine busts in the department's history during a routine traffic stop. He faces multiple charges including possession of controlled substance in the highest category, heroin possession with intent to deliver, marijuana possession with an aggravating factor and two counts of drug paraphernalia possession.
Tucker, who faces about five years in prison and a $10,000 fine, has also been cited for speeding with a suspended license.
Davon Tucker is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution after failing to post a $122,600 bail. It's unclear if he has an attorney. Authorities did not charge his unidentified female companion.
