As the "Miss Universe" 2014 competition reaches its conclusion, the anticipation for the announcement of winner heightens. So, who will be crowned as this year's "Miss Universe"?
The "Miss Universe" 2014 pageant exemplifies confidence, beauty, elegance, intelligence and sophistication. It also promotes peace, unity and camaraderie among competing nations. And 88 of the world's most beautiful women will showcase their exquisiteness as they all vie for the crown.
This year, the "Miss Universe" competition has been both very challenging and dramatic. Since its postponement in 2014, we initially reported the pageant has sparked controversies from national costumes to the $2.5 million payment to the host city, to the scandalous selfie of two Miss Universe candidates that angered the public of the conflicting nations.
Though the competition braved several challenges, the 63rd Annual "Miss Universe" pageant successfully staged its preliminaries. Last Wednesday, the contest kicked off with the preliminary round where the candidates flaunted their national costumes, modeled stunning evening gowns and strutted in their swimwear attire. According to Us Weekly, the ladies wore outrageous costumes that definitely knocked off the Victoria's Secret Angels.
From stars, glitters, wings, feathers, frills, nets, laces and eccentric hats, the stunning "Miss Universe" beauties fascinated the viewers with the unconventional fashion sense of those who designed and tailored the ladies' costumes. The Daily Mail dubbed the event as the "most jaw-dropping" segment of the "Miss Universe" 2014 competition that will really make you guess who came from where.
Meanwhile, as the competition draws to an end, the "Miss Universe" organization announced on its official Facebook page that multi-platinum selling and Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw will be joining Nick Jonas and Prince Royce to perform on the pageant's finale on Sunday at the Florida International University Arena.
The "Miss Universe" 2014 organizers also announced that this year the audience will have the opportunity to ask the final question. Those interested can check its announcement on Facebook on how to submit the questions.
Here are some interesting questions asked by pageant enthusiasts that were compiled by Movie News Guide.
"Do you agree that 'Freedom of Expression' has limits? Why or why not?" one user asked, while another added, "Do you think a female can lead a country as effectively as a male? Why or why not?"
"If you could travel back in time to the distant past with your smartphone, which notable historical figure would you seek out to take a selfie with and what would you tell him or her to explain a selfie?" another wrote. And here's an additional interesting question, "What do you think a person needs to be happy?"
Whether or not these questions will be asked, one thing is for sure: whoever gets the crown surely embodies the character and values that reflects the "Miss Universe" 2014 advocacies.
