Jailbreak tool TaiG users need to downgrade to iTunes 12.0.1 from iTunes 12.1 for Windows and Mac devices, according to Redmond Pie.
Jailbreaking is always a risky process and is both an advantage and a disadvantage. TaiG's latest jailbreak tool does not work well with iTunes 12.1 but is compatible with iTunes 12.0.1. Users need to downgrade to iTunes 12.0.1 to achieve desired results in the overall jailbreaking experience.
The downgrading process is short and simple but users must follow it religiously to avoid complications. For Windows users, the first step is to "completely uninstall iTunes 12.1." The Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support and iCloud must be removed to facilitate smooth downgrading process, The Fuse Joplin reported.
The second step is to change the extension of the iTunes file. The user can locate the said file on C:Users[yourname]MusiciTunes and change iTunes Library.itl to iTunesLibrary.bak. Afterwards, reboot the computer to successfully downgrade iTunes.
Last step is to install iTunes 12.0.1 on the device. Users can access the iTunes set up for Windows 32-bit here and Windows 64-bit here. After completing the steps, the downgrade is now successful for Windows.
As for Mac users, the first step is to download and install Pacifist from Pacifist.com. Next is to "quit iTunes" through the Activity Monitor. The user can download and mount iTunes 12.0.1 for OS X but do not install it as of this time.
The downloaded Pacifist must be launched first. The user can now select Open Package and click iTunes under Devices, which can be found at the "left hand-side bar." After that, click Install iTunes and Open, which is located at the "bottom right-hand corner."
After everything is loaded, the user may select Contents of Install iTunes and then click Install located at the top part. All the prompts on the screen should be strictly followed until the installation starts.
The box that says Application Already Exists will pop up after a few seconds or minutes. The user must check the Don't Ask Again for This Installation option and choose Replace. Standby as the process is completed and iTunes 12.0.1 will start to run eventually.
