Niagara Falls Frozen - As residents of the U.S. continue to experience record snow weather conditions, parts of world renowned tourist attraction the Niagara Falls has frozen.
According to reports, the popular attraction, where people can visit at any time of the year, has frozen over mainly because of severe freezing conditions in the region.
Reports indicate that on Monday the region where the Niagara Falls is located experienced record temperatures of -13, with winds chills as low as -25.
The news that the Niagara Falls has frozen may deter many from visiting. However there are some who would love the thrills of a winter wonderland.
The frozen Niagara Falls has been attracting many visitors, just last week a pair of Canadian ice climbers made history by becoming the first to climb to the top of the falls.
Sarah Hueniken and Will Gadd climbed up the Horsehoe section of the popular site located in a border between the U.S. and Canada.
"Where I started climbing there was probably 20 or 30 feet of ice there. There was about 150 feet give or take of climbing," Gadd said during an ABC interview.
He added that the ice made the climb difficult and caused worries about safety.
"It was difficult because that water makes mist and the mist was actually still blowing onto the ice and I was covering up my ice tools."
"It was a little bit different, it added to the hazards for sure, It was complicated, but yeah, we figured out how to do it reasonably safely and had a great climb," Gadd said.
