Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence will be playing the role of a war photographer in her upcoming movie project. It will helmed by acclaimed director Steven Spielberg and will be based on Lynsey Addario's memoir.
For the first time, Jennifer Lawrence is teaming up with renowned director-producer Steven Spielberg for the movie adaptation of an award-winning photojournalist's memoir entitled, "It's What I Do: A Photographer's Life of Love and War," Variety reported.
Aside from 24-year-old "Hunger Games" actress, Jennifer Lawrence, "American Sniper" producer Andrew Lazar will also join the team. While Warner Bros. won the auction for the rights to Addario's memoir. But as of the now, there has been no word yet on who will be writing the script for the film adaptation.
The memoir mainly focuses on Lynsey Addario's time in Afghanistan, Africa and Iraq, as per Indie Wire's report. Addario's war chronicle reportedly grabbed a lot of attention after the New York Times Magazine published an excerpt of the memoir.
There are also some big names in Hollywood who have been rumored to be part of the huge Steven Spielberg's project. These include actresses Reese Witherspoon, Natalie Portman and Margot Robbie. Producing partners George Clooney and Grant Heslov, and Darren Aronofsky also attempted to secure a spot on the film.
The announcement about Jennifer Lawrence and Steven Spielberg's collaboration for the movie adaptation comes in the middle of their hectic schedules. In Entertainment revealed Lawrence is working on "Joy" which is due on Christmas time. She is also set to appear in the much delayed "Serena" as well as in "The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2," which is expected to hit theaters at the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg is currently working with Tom Hanks for an untitled Cold War thriller, and he is also set to work on "The B.F.G." that is due in the following year. Additionally, Spielberg is rumored to be the director of "Indiana Jones 5" with "Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt and the PTSD military drama "Thank You For Your Service."
Though Jennifer Lawrence and Steven Spielberg are both busy in their respective projects, their collaboration will surely be incomparable. The news about Lawrence and Spielberg's joint project was first reported by Deadline.
